Célébrons une décennie du Marché de Nuit Asiatique d’Ottawa avec une célébration inoubliable en deux parties

Découvrez la culture asiatique à travers des vendeurs de nourriture et de shopping, des jeux interactifs et des spectacles!

Hey, tea lovers! After the amazing turnout at part one of Ottawa’s Asian Fest Night Market, let’s explore what the second Night Market has in store for us!

According to @OttawaAsianFest’s’s Instagram post, this event will be filled with joy, featuring a multitude of food and drink vendors, performers and booths!

There will also be a breathtaking 60-foot Dragon Dance that’s not to be missed! | Il va aussi avoir une impressionnante danse du dragon de 60 pieds à ne pas manquer!

So take your time to sip, savour, and spill the tea during your lunch break or after work. This three-day event starts at 12 and ends at midnight, with the exception of Sunday, which ends earlier at 8 p.m.

Among the food vendors, you’ll find some of the most beloved cafés and restaurants. It’s a perfect chance to discover new culinary delights. Check their festival locations on their Instagram!

1. Dao Café

Let’s spill the tea on my favourite café: Dao Café, which will be present at booth C6. Last year, I tried their mochi donut for the first time, and I instantly fell in love!

Back when the Innes Rd location wasn’t open, my mom and I used to drive all the way to their Merivale location! This time, Dao Café will feature mango, blue raspberry or kumquat passion fruit mojitos. On top of that, they welcome a new addition of mochi gelato!

2. Green Papaya

Another one of favourite vendors is Green Papaya at B2, which offers Thai food and poutine. My family and I have always gone to that restaurant when I was young, and I have great memories! Check out their website here and visit them post-festival at 256 Preston St!

3. King of Sugarcane Juice

My dad is from Dar Es Salaam, Africa. In the 1980’s, my grandma opened the first commercial sugar cane juice machine in that city. In a phone conversation with my dad, he shared that he made his first sugar cane juice at approximately 12 years old. Since then, my dad and I have been going to places offering sugar cane juice, such as Juice Dudez, as a happy moment. With this festival, you can make equally sweet memories at the D1 King of Sugarcane Juice booth to try this refreshing drink!

I tried this beverage during Ottawa’s Asian Fest Part 1, and it is absolutely within my favourites!

4. Chungchun Rice Dog

Since my first year, this cheap, delicious quick eat has been my all-time favourite! Chungchun Rice Dog sells Korean Corn Dogs at the B5 booth! Find their locations in Orléans, Lansdowne and Nepean!

5. Golden Bubbles

Finally, another highlight is Golden Bubbles! At the B4 booth, they offer Hong Kong Bubble Waffles with ice cream. I had that wonderful dessert at last year’s Asian Fest, and I do recommend it!

In another light, in the first part of Ottawa’s Asian Fest, multiple vendors offer other delicious foods, such as the flaming squid!

Here is my third time trying this wonderful dish, all the time at the Ottawa Asian Fest, and my best friend Natasha‘s first time trying this!

I’ve mentioned numerous food vendors; you can find the ultimate list here! However, that’s not all; besides offering a grand variety of food, Ottawa’s Asian Fest has activities and performances that are just as amusing!

As my best friend and I entered Ottawa’s Asian Fest’s Part 1 at Tanger Outlet, we enjoyed Tealive’s bean toss to earn coupons for a discounted drink! I managed to get one in the hole and earned 50% off on my second drink, and my friend didn’t get any but got a participatory prize of a free topping!

Sadly, we didn’t get a video of us participating, but above is an example of the game!

As an Orléans resident, I’m delighted that Tealive and Dao Café are sharing a location, making it a one-stop destination for my two favourite places! Don’t miss the chance to claim your coupon at this unique spot. And if you’re curious, you can try a variety of drinks at the festival, like the brown sugar pearl milk tea, strawberry passionfruit green tea with aloe vera, or mango juice with coconut jelly and mango bits. My friend certainly enjoyed them!

We also loved to shop with the jewelry vendors!

For the first part, my bestie and I both grabbed matching bracelets for $15 each at Beauty’s Choice — which will also be here for the second part, for our significant others (my now ex.)

Here I am with the cutely decorated bag with the words “You had me at hello — ‘I love you’ ‘I know’”

If you don’t wish to spend money, enjoy the free performances! Today, Saturday, June 20, enjoy KPOP performances at 7, the Wushu 6FT Dragon & Lion Dance, and many more!
