Ouverture d’une nouvelle location miaou-gnifique: Le Lazy Cat Café a des compagnons à adopter purrfaits au centre-ville

Profitez d’une “meow”tagne de chats tout en les aidant à trouver une maison “four”midable et permanente.

Hey trendsetters, I have meow-tastic news! It’s been a while since we’ve seen cat cafés open up, but cat fans managed to bring this trendy coffee shop back!

Lazy Cat Café recently closed its Scarborough location and opened a new cat lovers’ spot in the heart of downtown. It is located on the second floor at 360 Queen St W and will whisker you away! If you’re as bad as me at following a map, it’s the building next to CIBC.

This café has everything you could dream of, from cute decorations, drinks, desserts, BBQ patio, and, certainly, the cats! My close friend Ella and I were impressed! | Ce café a tout ce que vous pouviez rêver, des adorables décorations, les boissons, les desserts, patio BBQ, et bien sûr, les chats! Mon amie Ella et moi étions impressionnées!

We went exactly one month ago, on opening day. Happy one month to this wonderful cat café! Anyways, if you remember, this same day was the huge power outage due to flooding. Because of that, commuting took a little while — and by that, I mean that we could’ve walked quicker than using the bus, but we still made it!

In the beginning, we had to use flashlights to climb up the stairs and go to the washroom to wash our hands before seeing the cats, but about an hour later, the power restarted, and our cat cafe experience became even better!

This cat café has everything a cat lover can dream of, especially the friendly, adoptable cats! Who knows, maybe the cat distribution system will bless you! Trust me, if I wasn’t going on an exchange to Spain in a few months, I think I would’ve taken one myself!

If you already have a cat, the Lazy Cat Café also offers a curated selection of Nikoro products. So, stock up on cat litter, canned food, and cat treats!

I got acquainted with many cats. However, my favourite was Pop — as you can see below!

He is a tiny kitten who came to sit on me, play, and was very interested in the camera! This cat was worth my cat allergies flare-up, haha!

As fun as this all sounds, what makes this cat café special compared to previous cat cafés in Toronto?

For context, in 2017, TOT Cat Café closed down due to the alleged poor conditions the cats were subjected to. So did Meow Cat Café in 2018 due to accessibility issues. So what measures is this café taking to avoid themselves from closing as well?

Well, this cat café has a fantastic cat-titude. They rescue and rehome animals and have already saved 120 cats. They also have an application in progress to become a non-profit organization, meaning they must treat their cats well!

Additionally, with universities such as OCAD, UofT or TMU, and many colleges such as George Brown all downtown, students have the fantastic opportunity to unwind and read books in the presence of cats or play with them! As a student, I would come back for some cat time!

To make a reservation, check out their catsome website with the cutest cursor of a cat in a teacup! Start by selecting the location (as another location will open in North York soon).

Choose the date and time you want to visit and select the package you wish to take. More info on the packages is available on their Instagram, with the cheapest option of the cat room access for $24.99 + tax only available to walk-ins.

We chose the package for $29.99 + tax for the cat room and ice cream! | Nous avons choisi le forfait de 29,99$ + taxes pour la salle des chats avec une crème glacée!

On top of that, the Lazy Cat Café and OHYO Spree have started a partnership offering cat lovers many deals! Amongst them is a $10 free game token voucher with the purchase of the Pro Plan at the Lazy Cat Café. A second deal is to earn a free drink (valued at $10) from the Lazy Cat Café when you spend $50 at Ohyo Spree. Finally, the last deal is if you spend $100+, you’ll get a $25 voucher for a half-hour play session with the cats (only available with a $20 spend at the cat café.)

If everything goes well in your cat café, visit, and you did indeed get picked by the cat distribution system, fill out a cat adoption application on that same website. More information on how to adopt is right here.

So don’t pro-cat-stinate and pay Lazy Cat Café a visit!
